about

Experimental improvisation session on three conceived themes played and recorded live on the magical day of January 21, 2023 in Modena at the Ground Floor studio recording studio.

Nine people, friends of the Playades, made themselves available to participate in a new trip.

This meeting between friends is nothing more than a set of stories, experiences and bonds that crosses places and time, arriving in the presence of the Pythia, the Oracle of Delphi.

The ancient temple of Delphi this time becomes a mediation between cultures and sound cognitive heritage. A new vision of the meeting between ancient and modern.

The musicians walk through thick woods to reach the mountains where the great temple of Delphi stands.

Once they arrive they ask their question to the Oracle:

"What will happen to our music?"

Night falls and a party begins that comes to life between lights and shadows.
The Pythia receives the gifts and sacrifices, their music is sacrificed.
The response is this:

“I know the number of grains of sand.
I know the measure of the sea.
I listen to the speeches of the voiceless.
The statues stand shivering in terror. Black blood drips from the highest roofs.
Black blood drips from the highest rooftops.
They saw evil.
Get out, get out!
Leave my sanctuary and drown your spirits in sorrow."

In the silence of the morning smoke and vapors are released from the Temple.
A surprising scene before the eyes of the nine traveling companions.
The Pythia sitting on her tripod is dead and is slowly being swallowed up by a chasm that opens under the floor.

On the altar there are the instruments of the nine musicians.
Outside there is the sun, a new light, new colors and new sounds, a new temple.

A new era opens: New Delphi.
