Posy’s Bow is composed with a series of field recordings. The pieces on Posy’s bow have been composed to consider rituals & rites that remove us momentarily from everyday life. Inspired by General Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations, Notebook 7 (28) he writes “Withdraw into yourself. It is natural for the command center to be content with the justice of its actions and with the tranquility it has a result”. Each piece aims to study the features and fine details of different ritual ideas and exhibits the findings as sound with concepts relating to progress, passage, rituals, rites, relics and absolution. Rebekah uses timbres and textures to demonstrate some of the ways that role, ritual & rite play in all our lives. Atmospheric and harsh reeds, flutes and string stops resonate, giving way to delicate and beautiful found sound textures. Posy’s Bow takes the concept of ritual & rite as site-specific music from the perspective of the physical intricacies involved in types of ritual & rites”

Posy’s Bow is composed with a series of field recordings. The pieces on Posy’s bow have been composed to consider rituals & rites that remove us momentarily from everyday life. The tone, timbres and textures of the pieces are woven into the role that ritual & rite plays in all our lives.
Pipe organs often reside within vast spaces, becoming enthralled with the complexities of the rites & rituals being observed. Lofty and elaborate reeds, flutes and strings reverberate, giving way to hushed and delicate found sound textures. Posy’s Bow takes the concept of ritual & rite as site-specific music quite literally from the perspective of the physical intricacies involved in types of ritual & rites.
